Should draft invoices count toward the work you’ve done throughout the year? Some say yes and some will say no. What we can confidently assume though is that draft invoices have their uses and it should be up to you to decide whether or not you want to count draft invoices in reporting.
We’ve now added the ability for you to include or exclude draft invoices in your invoice exports. Simply head over to Ronin Reports, click on “Invoice Reports” and check or uncheck the option for “Include Draft Invoices”.
Setting up Custom SMTP for Gmail and G Suite is now easier than ever! We’ve just released a new integration for Google’s Gmail using an official OAuth (Open Authentication) connector, which will allow you to set up custom SMTP with Ronin through a few simple clicks.
If your business experiences high volumes of support emails or if you’d like to control email deliverability, we highly recommend using Custom SMTP through Gmail.
How to connect Gmail/G Suite with OAuth
Start by heading to your Ronin account settings by clicking on “Account” in the upper right hand corner. Under “Account Settings”, click on “Custom SMTP”.
Check the box for “Enable Custom SMTP Server” so Ronin will begin to process all outgoing emails through your Gmail Custom SMTP server.
Click on the dropdown menu underneath and select “Gmail”.
Finally, click on the “Set Up Gmail Connection” button and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.
Please remember to log into your Gmail account before proceeding so the process can be completed.

If you haven’t already, sign up for a Re:amaze trial account and then go to the Re:amaze Settings menu, click on “Apps” and then on “Ronin”. Input your Ronin account name and your Ronin API key. The Ronin API key is found under your Ronin staff settings and in your primary account holder’s profile.
Once your Ronin account is connected, all you need to do is wait for a client in your Ronin account to contact you through Re:amaze (email or chat). As long as their email address matches, you’ll see the following:

You can now customize your contact welcome emails. Contact emails are sent to your clients when you invite them to log in so they can review an estimate or invoice.
Turning on and customizing your welcome email is a great way to add a dash of professionalism and personality to your business!
You can try this out by going to your Ronin account’s settings page (click on Account) and then click on “Customize Contact Welcome Email”. When you’re done editing, be sure to click on “Done”!
Traditionally, recurring schedules can only be accessed under the “Invoice” tab and then filtering out the recurring schedules. However, finding recurring schedules for a particular client can be difficult when numerous recurring schedules exist.
There is now a “recurring schedules” sub-tab under the Client page. This makes finding a particular client’s recurring invoices incredibly easy!

The Ronin Estimates filters now include “Approved & Converted” and “Approved & Not Converted” to make it easier to track Estimates that have (or have not) been converted to a Project or Invoice.
Working as a consultant and freelancer often means you need to know exactly how much of your invoices are outstanding.
Ronin is now making it easier to see how much you can expect to be paid when you have a a pile of draft invoices created and saved.
To see your total drafted amount, click on “Invoices” and filter to the DRAFT invoices section. This easy to use filter can give you a birds-eye-view of every draft invoice that’s currently outstanding.
Ronin now allows you to collect payments through SEPA from clients in countries within the Single Euro Payments Area. SEPA integration requires that your Ronin account is connected to Stripe (under Account > Payment Integrations) and furthermore requires that you opt-in to allow SEPA payments.

SEPA Payments can only be collected for invoices in the EUR currency, so clients will only be given an option to pay via SEPA under the following conditions:
- You have Stripe connected to Ronin
- You have SEPA Integration Enabled under Payment Integration Settings
- The Invoice or Recurring Schedule is in EUR currency.
SEPA Payments require the creation of a Payment Profile in Ronin for the Client that wishes to pay with SEPA. This will generate a Mandate (with a permanent Mandate URL) that identifies the agreed Mandate during the creation of the Payment Profile.
Because SEPA payments can be cost effective (depending on your businesses country of origin) you may also elect to waive Transaction Fees for SEPA if you have Transaction Fees turned on in Ronin.
Note on Usage and Transactions
Ronin will mark an invoice as Paid as soon as the transaction goes through. However, it can take up to 14 business days to confirm the success or failure of a payment. Ronin does not automatically retract payments if a payment fails after the initial transaction. It’s up to you to properly reconcile and account for any payment failures after-the-fact. We recommend withholding shipping physical products or access to digital goods until the transaction has been confirmed.
Do you use Ronin to send customers estimates of certain options and packages? Maybe 3 different wedding packages with different prices? Or 5 different vacation packages with different offerings and prices? When customers decide on a specific package, they can pick one of out the 3 or 5 offered.
In these cases, showing the traditional estimate “total” wouldn’t make much sense since customers are only to pick 1 package and not all 3 or all 5. Ronin Estimates now support the ability to turn off “Estimate Totals” so estimates that are designed to have customers pick one of out of many will make more sense!
